Brighton, UK

When you have a day to spare and you are in London, one of the options is to go to Brighton - a small town situated by the sea. As a student in London, I missed being by the sea. So we decided it was time to refresh our memories.

Brighton Photo 4 Brighton is very accessible from London. The best way is to take a train from Victoria. The journey is approximately of 90 minutes. It's also very scenic. Generally there are offers on tickets available so that group traveler benefit. I would strongly suggest leaving early so that there is plenty of time for all activities. And also make a note that like all small towns in UK, most of the activities in Brighton also close by 5:30 PM.

As soon as we got out of the station, we found a map and started planning our day. There are plenty of things to do and see in Brighton and the plus point is that they are all on the same street. You can also walk the entire time. But if you are not a big fan of walking, taxi numbers are available at the station and so is the bus pass.

Brighton Photo 2 We decided to stick to the beach, pier, and of course how can girls forget, the mall. After a five minute walk we reached the city center. The city center is the biggest shopping destination in Brighton. All brands can be found here and at a discounted price. The city center also has the clock tower which is in the center of the town. The city center also has a lot of culinary options. Especially for vegetarians I would suggest to plan your meals here.

Ten minute walk away is the beach. This beach is different than the other beaches as it's not sandy but has pebbles of all sizes. Along the beach you can see a variety of outdoor cafes and small shops. Being a vegetarian I picked up my lunch from the city center but my friends indulged in fish and chips by the sea. We sat on the beach to enjoy our delicious food.

After a big session of gossip, we were well relaxed and moved on to the pier. The Brighton pier has a carnival. Little games, roller coasters, haunted house, etc. kept us busy.

Soon it was time to get back to the busy city life.
